Issue 4 wants to take away your right to elect the position of County Engineer. This will make Summit County the only county in the State of Ohio not to have an elected County Engineer or Surveyor. This elective position is responsible for Summit County ’s roads and bridges, and gives you, the citizens, a chance to keep this person accountable for your safety.
Currently, the position of Summit County Engineer is required to be held by a professionally licensed engineer. If Issue 4 passes, the County Engineer position will be eliminated, giving its responsibilities, duties, and budget to the County Executive.
For nearly a century, the citizens of Summit County have had the right to choose their County Engineer. For the safety of everyone in Summit County, vote ‘NO’ on Issue 4!!
